The history of Redeemer Lutheran church, beaumont, tx
In 1959, the Reverend Gerar Isenberg was called to start a church on the north side of Beaumont and to serve as its first pastor. Eighty-Four people attended the first worship service in the First Federal Savings and Loan building on Eleventh Street. The church was organized with 47 communicants, 77 baptized members and 19 voting members. The congregation rented and renovated a large house at 4305 Concord Road to serve as the temporary home.
A tract of land at 4330 Crow Road was acquired and on February 12, 1961 the ground breaking ceremony for Redeemer's permanent home was held. The completed building was dedicated on August 13, 1961.
The church has continued to grow and now includes a Family Life Center for recreation, education and meetings and a Children's Center providing a caring Christian environment for daily daycare. With over 300 communicate members, we welcome you to explore God with us!
